Old mirrors,
sharp scissors,
sea air.
The oldest barber shop on the North Island, cutting hair since 1961. A proper cut in the Salmon Capital of the World, in vintage 1950s chairs beside a wall of curiosities. Everyone's welcome in the chair.

The North Island's oldest barber shop
The Village Barber has been cutting hair in Willow Point since 1961, which makes it the oldest barber shop in Campbell River, and the oldest on the North Island. You still settle into one of the original vintage 1950s chairs, beside a wall that's a proper cabinet of curiosities: antique mirrors kept as art, driftwood off the beach, and odds and ends gathered over the years.
No app, no waiting list, no fuss. Bring the kids, take your time, talk salmon, and leave looking sharp. There's a chair here for everyone.
The wall of curiosities
"Katherine truly is an exceptional barber. She works with me to get it exactly how I like it, and does a great job every time. Good conversations, good laughs."
John Stevenson
"We've taken our two boys, 5 and 8, to the Village Barber for almost five years. It's the only barber shop they'll go to. Katherine is always kind and does a great job."
Steve Belanger
Kind words from our regulars and fresh work straight from the chair.
